This is the second-most requested feature, and it's finally here. You can now add a background track to any clip, anywhere:

But that's not all... You can also:

๐Ÿ“ฃ Change the volume

By default, all background tracks play at 20% volume, but we know not all music is the same. Alitu makes adjusting this simple:

๐Ÿค Make it as long as it needs to be...

Start the music exactly where you want to. And... Have it last no longer than you need to. Our guiding lines allow you to be uber precise:

๐Ÿ˜Ž Add smooth fade-outs (and fade-ins)

Want your music to end smoothly and gradually? No problem. Just drag the blue handle to apply a fade-out effect:

Try it in Alitu today to see how it works!

๐Ÿ”‡ Mute Unwanted Noises

Similar to the bleep tool, you can now mute any sound, without removing it. Whether it's a crutch word ("Basically, I..."), a breath or something else, it's like a bleep without a beep! Keep the natural flow of your dialogue with none of the noise.

Ideal for masking any pops, clicks, breaths, distortions or coughs in your audio. And, if bleeps are not your style, you can mute swears too!

๐Ÿ“ฉ We want Your Feedback on our Updates!

We're super excited about these updates and hope they'll make your audio all the more perfect. We'd love to hear what you think.

Dropped an F-bomb? Well, s#!t happens. But fear not. With the help of a transcript, Alitu makes bleeping out cuss words a breeze:

And just like that, the swears are gone. Ideal if you like to keep your audio clean. No more Explicit tags next to your podcast!

This new metric is now available in your Statistics page ๐Ÿ“ˆ

๐Ÿง‘๐Ÿปโ€๐ŸŽจ Episode-specific Artwork

In addition to your show cover, you can now add episode artworks in Alitu. Custom art helps your listeners find the right episode to listen just by gleaning the cover. Here's a podcast that does this really well:

I can quickly tell who the guest is and what the episode will be about. Nice! You can set the art for your episode by editing its details:

Thanks again to all of you for your votes and feedback on this ๐Ÿ’œ

Does the pacing of your speech sometimes feel off? With just one click, you can now add an extra second of pause to your clips:

We are so happy this is finally here. Thanks to all (one hundred and three) of you for providing your feedback and voting on this feature ๐Ÿ’œ

๐Ÿ“ Make your show more discoverable and accessible

You can now attach a transcript of your episode directly to your RSS feed. Just by checking a checkbox on the publish page. Like so:

Transcripts make your content more discoverable. This makes it easy for people to find your show and specific episodes. While search engines can't listen to audio yet, they can read. Learn more here.โ€‹

Accessibility. Including a transcript also makes your podcast more inclusive, reaching those who are deaf or hard-of-hearing.

Additionally, transcripts allow your listeners to easily navigate your podcast and return to specific parts of an episode.

The transcript tag that this feature uses is a Podcasting 2.0 feature, which we're proud to support, and which helps to push podcasting as a medium forward.

Episode Downloads statistics just got better. If you host your show with Alitu, you can now sort episodes by most and least downloaded.

This allows you to check what content is striking a chord and which is just playing air guitar in an empty room.

Create Podcast Clips with Alitu

Shared by Alitu โ€ข

Hi there!

Today we're launching a new tool to help you extract great clips from your show. You can use it to hook your listeners early with a cold open or to tease your episode on social media platforms. Let's dive in!

How does it work? ๐Ÿค”

You can extract clips from any audio you upload to Alitu. Just open the editor, select the Clip tool and highlight your soundbite.

All your clips live in the Library ๐Ÿ’พ

From there, they can be downloaded and turned into promotional material on social media. Or re-used in your next episode!

Create a cold open in two clicks ๐Ÿฅถ

Many podcasters start their episodes with a funny or attention-grabbing clip, called a cold open, to hook listeners early. Alitu makes that easy.

Choose your perfect part and check the "Add to start of this episode" box โ€” Alitu will handle the rest!

We hope this new feature will make your podcasting life a little better. And, as always, if you have any feedback or further questions, just hit the chat bubble. We love to hear from you. ๐Ÿ’œ
